My pup recently boarded there for a few days. When I picked him up he looked gross. Nothing was shared with me at that time. After walking to my car and looking at him more closely, as well as his belongings (bed), I see poop smeared and that he smelled like urine. I went back inside to ask if something happened and it was only then that it was shared that he had an accident the night before and staff had to clean out his den. I asked for details: did it only happen once, how long had he been sitting in his urine/poop (all night?!), and if something happened because he does NOT do that at home— and no answers were given. I asked if they take notes to share with owners, if things happen and I was told no. I find it unacceptable to pick up my dog drenched in urine and poop, even if it’s his own. They offer bath services so I think they should clean our dogs and just bill us. My dog could’ve been in that condition for days and I have no idea. At the minimum, I should’ve received a call and asked what do I want to happen. I would’ve undoubtedly said to bathe him and charge me! It’s disappointing that the kennel where he sleeps was cleaned but my dog was not. It also makes me question what the watch schedule is in observing and tending to the dogs who are boarding. This experience has definitely made me look at this establishment differently, which is unfortunate.

I meant to write this earlier but the manager reached out to me shortly after writing this review. She apologized and completely validated my concerns. She also expressed some of the changes that will be implemented to avoid this happening to other customers. She offered to take care of my service, which I wasn't expecting but it meant a lot and she kept true to her word. I did bring my dog back for another boarding experience and to my knowledge, everything went okay. I requested that he was given a bath prior to pick up so I can't speak to if whether or not he had any accidents but I like to give people/businesses the benefit of the doubt and will choose to believe that he had a better, clean, stay.

I’m extremely disappointed with my recent experience at Wag-A-Lot Downtown. I received a phone call today informing me that my dog has apparently had ongoing issues with rough play with other dogs — something I was never told before. The only communication I ever received was that he had been moved up to the large yard, and it was presented as a positive/congratulatory thing, not as a behavioral concern.
During the call, I was also told that my dog is often kept in the den for much of the day and mainly gets time out with staff members because he seems stressed in the den. As a pet owner, it was upsetting to learn this had apparently been happening for some time without my knowledge or consent.
I completely understand that not every daycare environment is the right fit for every dog, and I appreciate them trying to manage situations safely. My issue is the lack of transparency and communication. If my dog was struggling socially or spending significant time separated from group play, I should have been informed immediately and consistently.
Because of this experience, I’ll be looking for another daycare that communicates more openly with pet parents.

Went on Fri 2/13/26 about 12:30 pm to do a self wash.I have my own shampoo, towels etc.I was told there is no longer a different price for bringing your own.I decided to use theirs then..
Went into bathing area and tubs were very dirty, dog hair everywhere, scum and crud all inside the tub as though they haven't been cleaned in weeks...There was also no shampoo available either...I had to wash the tub with my shampoo and cloth(thank goodness I had some) before I could bathe my dog..Thank goodness she sat patiently while I did all that because she does not like bathing at all and gets anxious..
The experience was not what I was accustomed to.I have been using their self wash for many years and this was not a good experience.
I later tried to contact the manager Jen to express my concerns but was told by the gentleman who answered the phone that he could not provide me with an email nor telephone contact number but could forward mine to her.
I do not expect to hear from her at all. After reading other reviews it's apparent that this downtown location has changed quite a bit and it's time to make other arrangements moving forward.

Probably the worst local business I've dealt with and I would be really hesitant to let my pet be boarded here. The staff is literally incompetent all the way up to owners/management. Couldn't get my account set up for over two weeks and then refused to give a tour of the facilities before boarding, seems extremely fishy. They require multiple hoops to jump through with no support or recourse. No grooming services allowed until you book another service first. No customer support when it comes to phone or email, I had to drag my butt down there in person to get any answers or support when it came to uploading vaccinations and the front desk staff is only half-interested in your issues anyway. Use any of the businesses nearby for boarding instead. Avoid this place like the plague. They just keep your dog in a concrete warehouse anyway, no actual care involved.

Just picked this guy up from his first “trial day” and can’t say enough good things. He’s tuckered out from all the playing, I got to watch him on a webcam having a blast any time I wanted to. The staff was so welcoming and helpful and even gave me a goodie bag when I left! I already booked my boarding stay for next month because I loved the experience so much. Thank you for the great service 🥰
