We got here at 10 pm and did not get discharged until 3:30 am.\nIt’s a long story but this place lacks empathy and compassion especially from the vet techs or nurses whatever they are! Seems like they do not really care about the animals more so about the $$. My dog was gasping for air and all they could worry about is me agreeing to the 10K+ estimate for 2 night hospitalization.

Excellent veterinary service. I had to bring in one of my pets for an emergency and the staff were incredibly kind and accommodating throughout the entire ordeal.

Please never bring your dog to this place.\nThey only care about your money not your dog.\nI have the worst experience and I will never recommend to even to my worst enemy.\nI hope the city of San Francisco will close down this facility for ever.\nSo they won’t hurt any dogs.

My dog was not thoroughly evaluated the evening I brought him to SAGE because my dog passed away the very next day. SAGE’s assessment relied mainly on normal vitals and the fact my dog had energetic behavior They didn’t perform additional testing to rule out more serious conditions. SAGE vet ASSUMED he had an upset stomach with the diarrhea , shakes, and vomiting my dog experienced. They administered a nausea injection and we went home.\nMy dog did not get better and I brought him to a different urgent care facility the next day where they performed bloodwork and found underlying issues in his kidney, liver, and prostate. By that time it was too late. My dog passed away. SAGE did not assess my dog, made a diagnosis without testing, and took my dog’s chance away to fight for his life. Had SAGE performed testing, my dog could have started treatment the night before when I brought him in the moment he had symptoms.\nI am devastated by how this situation with SAGE unfolded. The following week, i brought a different dog to a different clinic with the same symptoms where they immediately advised to do bloodwork and Xrays. SAGE advised none of that.\n\nUpdate 4/5/26: Your response does not match my dog’s visit.\n\n1) “Your pet presented with several concerning symptoms not mentioned in this review” — I stated all the symptoms I knew at that time in this review: diarrhea, shakes and vomiting. If he had other concerning symptoms not in this review as stated in the business response then they were not shared with us by SAGE. His kidney, liver, prostate issues were discovered in a different clinic after SAGE because they ran diagnostics. SAGE vet only told us “his vitals are good”\n2) “All diagnostics were declined.” —I only declined an injection to relieve diarrhea symptoms because it already showed signs of improving without it. Injections ARE NOT diagnostics. the bloodwork was only mentioned after I pressed with multiple follow-up questions. Bloodwork was not initially advised by the veterinarian, and when it was eventually brought up, it was described as unnecessary for a common upset stomach. An upset stomach assessment we were given with zero tests performed.
