We received excellent end of life care at this veterinary clinic for our sweet guinea pig. We met both Dr. Chan and Dr. Chu. They were thorough, compassionate, and very supportive during a difficult time. The front desk staff were extremely responsive and accommodating with our scheduling needs, as well.

An amazingly caring, knowledgable staff.\n\nWhen my canary had an eye infection a month ago, this place saved both him and I… we able to be seen quickly and with high efficacy (detailed correspondance with the veterinarian and full explanations of the medications we were given).\n\nI am so very grateful for this vet hospital as there were very few other available avian vets, and I did not feel out of place at all bringing in a bird (especially due to his small size). The exam went smoothly and my canary was handled with care.\n\nThey are also highly organized and responsive with emails. The front desk staff are pleasures to correspond with and extremely respectful of both pets and owners. (They were even so kind as to offer to keep my bird behind their desk if I wanted to leave for a short walk (as I arrived to the appointment approx. 20 minutes early)).\n\nI can also tell the place is kept very clean, as I (sadly) have allergies to dogs and cats, but did not have any allergic symptoms while there.\n\nDr. Chan is the best, and I am very thankful for this veterinarian clinic in San Francisco. I would really like to recommend their avian services for the depth and ease of veterinary care.\n\n(Note: Posted photos were taken with verbal permission).

This is my vet and they’ve been great for the last year!\n\nMy only complaint would be that they won’t give a vaccine without a physical, even if my cat has recently had a physical from them.

We brought our cats here for an investigation into some upper respiratory symptoms. Vet spent ~5 minutes with us, ordered $600 of labs and then left. We were told nothing was out of the ordinary beyond some numbers in their blood work for kidney issues. We took them to another vet for a second opinion, who actually took the time to examine them and found they have signs of a bacterial infection that can be very damaging and spread to humans. As a neighbor and concerned cat dad, I advise against bringing your animals here.

SVH has been our primary vet since moving back to San Francisco. They've taken great care of our guinea pigs and were very flexible with appointment scheduling. They also helped arrange funeral services when one tragically passed away.
