I have had so many issues with this place in the past and see a lot of the same issues in others comments. Especially the complaints about rude and dismissive staff. I want to add that I recently had my dog's teeth cleaned at our new vet. I learned in this visit when the new vet took X-rays that Hyde Park did not fully extract my dogs teeth, but instead did "crown amputations." That is NOT an extraction. So my new vet called to tell me my dog has a bunch of roots left in his gums. She explained that this is an out-of-date practice that is rarely used anymore. Now my dog might have possible issues in the future and already had to have some of the roots surgically removed.\n\nThe cleaning at Hyde Park was done by Dr. Baker. I remember her calling to tell me he was having quite a few teeth extracted, but did not explain anything about the roots being left behind. Dr. Williams made no mention of this either when he cleaned my dog's teeth the next year. Following the second cleaning though, my dog had his first ever seizure that night. I then had lots of issues in general with trying to get my dog sorted. Do not take your pets to the Hyde Park Clinic or the Stony Island location. The Stony Island location is a cold, sad place with no joy, that my dog has only left worse off than he was going in.\n\nMy dog is finally FINALLY overcoming what I believe is damage caused by the dismissive and old-fashioned care provided by these clinics. There is a decent tech who is helpful, but otherwise avoid these clinics if you don't want to end up having problems with your pet following a visit.

Had to wait 60 minutes after my scheduled appointment to be seen. Had to message multiple times to receive the urine tests that they we shouldve gotten within the week (the same test my previous vet did in 30 minutes). Received contradictory advice through a lot of back and forth about the diet plan for my cat, delaying when we got him his prescribed food. Overall incredibly disappointed.\n\nReceptionist was nice though

They seem competent, kind and tolerant. They are also costly, but so is every vet I've ever taken the cats to, except one guy in the Florida keys and another in Colorado Springs. Feline distemper, rabies and a broad-spectrum flea treatment plus exam (not the lab tests) for $215. If we'd gotten the lab workup it would have been around $650. Great location.

Dr. Williams is the best!!! He removed a 10lb tumor from my baby and gave her new energy and a higher quality of life at age 12.5! Thank you for taking such great care of my baby! We are walking and playing again! Life is good!

I've never written a bad review in my life, but there's a first for everything. Told by the woman at the front desk, "I shouldn't have even buzzed you in," when I found a malnourished kitten in an alley, and Hyde Park Animal Clinic was the only vet within walking distance. I know they aren't the emergency vet, but a little kindness could have gone a long way.
