It was our first time bringing our two Yorkies to Mimo Grooming Salon and we were beyond impressed. The haircut was incredibly precise and flattering for their faces, and the little touch of color highlighting on their fur was just the perfect finishing detail—noticeable but still tasteful and classy. They came home looking like little show dogs, smelling great, and completely relaxed. The salon is clean and modern, and the whole experience felt very professional. We’re so happy we found Mimo and will definitely be coming back.

Edit/update • Cindy has been grooming my standard Poodle, Barbara, since her first puppy cut, then dying her pink, to tidy-ups, and now her first full groom. I can’t say enough wonderful, kind things about all of our experiences with Cindy at Mimo. Cindy’s artistic talent is absolutely incredible but the thing that makes me the happiest is how loved Barbara is when she’s in her care. Barbara comes out so happy, excited and proud every single time.\nI couldn’t ask for more wonderful person to care for Barbara while also making her the most beautiful girl in the world.\nI also want to mention their products! I have Barbara bathed closer to home because we live so far and the difference between her hair after a bath or groom at Mimo vs closer to home is insane. After she leaves Mimo her hair is so soft, conditioned, smells so good and stays that way the whole week before her next bath. I buy my products at Mimo for my local groomer to use because it’s so good and it absolutely makes all the difference in the world.\n\nI cannot say enough wonderful things about Mimo and everyone I encountered there. I made a mistake and misunderstood my appointment details and was making a 2 hour drive when I got the call I did not have an appointment. This was 100% my fault as I did not wait for my appointment to be confirmed - not only did they figure out a way to accommodate us as best they could, they went above and beyond for my baby and far exceeded anything I could have imagined, again this was all my fault and they were all so kind and gracious. I have a standard Poodle puppy who had never been to a groomer and I am so grateful for our experience. As soon as they took her back I could hear everyone greet her with so much kindness. When it was time for pick up she came prancing out and looked more beautiful than I could have ever imagined. They truly are the Gold standard for grooming and their customer service is even better. I am so grateful to them for taking the time to accommodate us and I absolutely cannot wait to be back for Barbara’s first full groom.

We found this salon via google search for the best bichon frise groomers and were pleasantly surprised. Mimo Grooming Studio in La Jolla is lovely and clean and has such a calming atmosphere from when you walk in. The receptionist asked lots of questions about what we wanted done, which was very reassuring. Gabriel did an amazing job with the haircut and exceeded all our expectations. Monty looked fabulous and a child said he looked like an Ai dog when we were walking back to our car! But more than the top notch grooming, we noticed how calm and relaxed he was when we picked him up. Like he had found his second home! Thank you so much, all at Mimo La Jolla! You make us want to move to San Diego!

We’ve been taking our teacup Maltipoo, Kaiya, to Mimo Grooming since she was just under a year old, and they have consistently done an amazing job. This was our first visit to their new La Jolla location, which opened about five months ago, and it definitely lived up to our expectations.\n\nLogan usually grooms Kaiya at the University Heights location, but this time we also had the opportunity to have Gabriel take care of her. Both groomers were fantastic, and Kaiya always comes back looking adorable and well cared for.\n\nOne of our favorite things about Mimo Grooming is that they’re willing to get creative with fun colors. Kaiya’s signature look has always been her pink/purple ears, and they always make them look perfect!\n\nWe actually live in Los Angeles, but the drive to San Diego is always worth it because of the quality of care and grooming they provide. I highly recommend Mimo Grooming to any fur parent looking for a groomer they can trust.\n\nPersonally, the University Heights location is a little more convenient for us while we’re in San Diego because of where we stay, but I also love the new La Jolla location as it has such a great beach-town vibe. It’s close to the ocean and surrounded by plenty of cafes and eateries, making it easy to grab a bite or enjoy the area while your pup is being pampered.\n\nWhether you choose University Heights or La Jolla, you really can’t go wrong. Kaiya and I are happy customers and will definitely keep coming back!

The hospitality, care, and attention to detail was amazing at Mimo pets. I had requested for Cindy as the groomer, and the receptionist, Nicky, was so kind to coordinate our appointment over the phone the next day. The minute we took our little shih tzu Momo inside, Nicky immediately recognized us and was very thoroughly with understanding our request for keeping Momo’s hair long while giving her a peekaboo shave. :)\nMomo was really nervous at first but the team really took care of her during her stay. Cindy did an amazing job with Momo’s haircut, and as pet parents— we loved Nicky’s positivity and attentiveness. We definitely will be coming back. Thank you so much!
