What pet parents say

Horrible horrible place, I had my appointment on Friday and I found out yesterday that they cut my dog near the pee pee spot. We called the place today and they were so rude. The man who picked up said no injuries reported at that time, repeated a couple of times, and told us to go to the vet hinting it was us instead of them. Horrible attitudes and they were not trying to solve the problem, no apology, or trying to understand the incident only blaming us. They didn’t find an injury at that time, but that doesn’t mean it didn’t happen since who would have thought to check that place. Later they ended our call when our talk was not even over, so rude. Plus the haircut was not good like some parts were longer than others. NEVER GOING BACK.\n\nReply to Owner: First of all, this review is already a month old, and the injury has healed, so I don’t see the point in trying to “solve” the problem now. We are not trying to look for a solution at this point or trying to act like a “Karen.” We simply wanted an apology when we called, and even now, your response still does not sound apologetic.\nSecond, you mentioned “professionalism,” but I did not see that during our call. You also mentioned “multiple attempts to communicate effectively,” but that never happened. All you said was to go to the vet while we were trying to explain what happened. Your response right now makes it sound like we were the ones in the wrong and that we were not trying to resolve the issue. Also, your explanation about needing to be attentive to the other pets is not valid because you ended my call abruptly without any notice. You did not even say something like, “Please leave your phone number, and I will call you back.”\nI understand the idea of “veterinary documentation” and that you wanted evidence. However, have you considered our side, including medical expenses and insurance? Are you going to cover those costs if the documentation shows that you are responsible?

I’ve had the best experiences with this groomer. They really care about their animal clients. I have an extremely difficult 20 pound senior cat and the owner is so patient with him, which makes a normally traumatic experience much less traumatic. I recently got a puppy and today was her first time getting groomed, and they took the cutest picture of her. I have no idea how they got her to sit still long enough, but it’s such a great keepsake for her first time. I highly recommend this place to everyone!

After Kobe’s last grooming with LALAPOOCH, I was honestly very concerned about finding a new groomer I could trust. LALAPOOCH had been our go-to, and when they closed, it was a big loss for us. Kobe is not just any dog—he’s like a little stuffed teddy bear, and grooming him takes a very special level of skill, patience, and artistry. Fluffy dogs like him are not easy, and finding someone who truly understands that is rare.\nToday, I’m very happy to say that Desert Pet Spa is now our new home for Kobe’s grooming. The technician who took care of him, Miku, was absolutely fantastic. She is truly an artist—she listened carefully, understood exactly the look I wanted, and delivered on it perfectly. That level of precision, especially on a first visit, is incredibly impressive. Usually, it takes a few visits to get alignment, but not here.\nKobe came out looking exactly how he should—clean, balanced, and that perfect teddy bear look that we love. I couldn’t be happier with the result.\nA big thank you to Miku and also to Kay, the owner, for running such a high-quality, professional salon. I highly recommend Desert Pet Spa to anyone in Las Vegas, especially if you have a dog that requires detailed, specialized grooming and real care.\nThank you so much for taking such great care of Kobe.

My mom and I have bringing our dogs here for about a year, and we while the grooming itself has been great. The customer service, we received, specifically from the black male groomer that’s there, has been very nasty and unpleasant.\n\nDuring our most recent visit, he raised his voice and berated my mother in front of other customers because one of our dogs was anxious and reactive during grooming. I’ve groomed both of my dogs myself so I have hands on experience on what they’re like. One of our dogs love grooming, while the other hates grooming bites the brush, blow dryer and nail clippers. She has always hated grooming and she most likely probably always will. But I feel like that’s completely normal to have pets who are going to have different temperaments, and that’s something that groomers probably deal with all the time.\n\nHonestly, you don’t know what someone is going through. My mom and I have been juggling a lot. I mostly do the grooming myself, but I’m not able to groom them as often as I want to anymore with health issues and a new baby. But despite that, I always make sure my dogs are taken cared of I groom them as soon as I can. We love our dogs! We are doing our best—like many pet owners juggling busy and sometimes challenging life situations. You don’t know what type of hardships people are going to be berating them and that is in no way okay.\n\nIt’s not about the feedback, we’re able to accept criticism especially where criticism is due. It’s about the delivery! This was probably built up because he’s been having a nasty attitude for the past several months and was being very curt. So him lashing out felt like that was an emotional spillover and very unprofessional. In the future just some advice for your staff, if there are concerns about a dog’s behavior those conversations should be handled privately and respectfully. They should also be addressed right away and not be built up to the point it causes stress on the groomer so he/she feels the need to be unpleasant. That is not fair to anyone. There’s a huge difference between offering guidance and publicly berating a paying and tipping customer. Now I’m not sure what type of internal battles he’s going through to make a customer feel small but if he can’t handle reactive dogs without taking it out on paying customers, this might not be the right job for him. When someone is treating customers like that it brings into question how that person is treating those customers pets behind the scenes.\n\nGood luck and God bless.
