What pet parents say

I’ve been taking my two cats here for years and I highly recommend. I wouldn’t have pictured either of my cats to ever get groomed, they hate even getting in the carrier. But they both do great and are so happy afterwards. My female especially loves her spa days and she is not usually a fan of strangers. My male is overweight and has arthritis and they really go above and beyond to make sure it’s a good experience. He goes in pretty greasy and drandfruffy and comes out so soft and beautiful. It’s a little pricey depending on what you get done but still worth every penny. The receptionist Rebecca is wonderful also, very friendly and helpful. The whole team is great.

These are my go to people for all of my non veterinary cat needs.\nI have done boarding. And that was done great. They took great care of my babies and sent pics and videos.\nI have them on call to do in-house sitting and they will even take care of my house plants and the feral porch cats that I feed too.\nI do them for grooming every month.\nI have 3 cats.\n1) Anya our queen, who was a good girl. A Russian Blue. They gave her beautiful baths and cleanings and during summer a beautiful little "bear" shave that looked perfect on her. We just lost her to cancer and they went above and beyond to send us beautiful sunflowers.\n2) Dimitri our knight, who is a very Squirrelly boy. A Russian white with same thick coat but a totally different body type than othet Russians (think mini white panther but with a thicker coat) But even so they always made him look good!!. He got a lion cut and they worked with me to get the fading exactly like I wanted for his comfort and my esthetic. He is a dirty boy with a dirty ears and eyes. But he always looked good afyer a visit here. They cleaned his eyes and ears and boots and claws. And his shave was always so perfect.\n3) Meredith the lost princess, who was an lost outdoors cat for over 8 years. She is a very very long hair girl who can't take care of her own fur. When I finally managed to get her into my house she was covered with matting and feces and urine she had a huge thorn hiden in her armpit under the mats. She was reactive even with Gabapentin (at least with me) and just tore up from the floor up.\nBut they made her look like a princess she is. Soft and fluffy. Meredith is the only cat that has a monthy shave all year long. She gets the "squirrel" cut that let's her keep her beautiful long hair tail (they shave up a little on the back for sanitary reasons but keep the front long to the base) she looks like a beautiful little squirrel. With soft fur. She gets monthly claw paws because she forgets where she is and lashes out during cuddle time and gives me new scars whenever she doesn't have them. But what she would never accept from me she let's cats in the city fo without and drama at all.\nIn fact, my fur babies lets cats in the city do everything that they won't let me even touch.\nIn addition, Cats in the City has always been kind and understanding to my very freaky schedule (otr trucker) and has been an absolute joy to work with from beginning to present. I recommend them to everyone I meet who has cats. These are people who love cats and also understand them. But also understand people as well and offer a variety of services to help us help our fur babies.\nAnd while I do not think the pricing is a "steal", I do not want a steal. I want people who want to do a good job, not people who don't care because they are not paid to care about their quality.\nTherefore I think the pricing is very reasonable for the exceptionally high level of service and quality that they offer across the board from transportation to boarding and in house care to the very beautiful grooming I get every month.\nPhotos are before and after of Meredith.\nDimitri and Anya never showed as good as they looked in the after pics. Even though they always looked so fabulous. I think it was because , while thick, their fur was shorter so before and afters did not have that dramatic look that a long hair will give you.\nBut if you have a thick fur coat let me recommend a shave at least once. Thick fur that has had a shave comes out feeling so incredibly soft and downy and has its own charms. We shave all of our cats during the summer heats and enjoy the long coats during the winter chills.

Cats in the city is just the best. They take such good care of my sweet baby Jet, he comes back so clean and pampered, and happy to feel that way. The reports I get following the appointment really make me feel good about letting them take care of my cat. Will definitely be a returning customer as long as I have cats.

Cats in the City tandem grooming/groomers are the best of the best! From the moment we decided to adopt a Persian kitten, we knew we’d need help taming her wild mane. Pearl, our Persian, loves spa day! And we love how much Cats in the City love her. We never have to worry about her, and she always comes home looking great, and minimally stressed. We also adore the “report card” and “awards” she receives post grooming. Cannot recommend them enough! People and, most importantly, cat approved!

This will probably be one of the most unusual reviews I’ve ever written, because what I’m raving about may seem unrelated to the actual grooming services — but the change in my cat’s behavior after visiting Cats in the City has been incredible.\n\nMy cat was a feral kitten. He’s bonded only with me, and despite living in this home for the past year, he’s always been terrified of the living room and completely unwilling to interact with guests. Most of the time, he hides under the rug beneath my bed whenever anyone comes over.\n\nThat’s exactly why I chose Cats in the City. Their emphasis on trauma-informed care during grooming really stood out to me, and paying extra for that kind of thoughtful approach was never even a question.\n\nSo, when I picked him up and they told me he had been extremely anxious, very scared, and had apparently won the “Strongest Cat of the Day” award (LOL), I wasn’t surprised at all. They also suggested that future visits might go more smoothly with a mild sedative. Honestly, I fully expected him to spend the next week hiding under the rug once we got home.\n\nInstead, something amazing happened.\n\nI brought him home, left for a couple of hours, and when my friend and I returned, he greeted both of us in the living room. He played on his cat castle, climbed onto my friend’s lap, and even purred while being pet. Meow Chicka Meow Meow now hops up onto the windowsill to watch people walk by — something he never would have done before.\n\nMaybe the little lion cut made him feel brave like one too.\n\nThank you so much for the care, patience, and compassion you all showed him. It truly made a difference.
