I wash my husky here because of the high powered dryer. She gets mostly dry in about 15-20 min and they she can air dry the rest. One downside is that the shampoo doesn't actual smell good so we come away smelling like wet dog and not clean dog.\nIt's easy to tap and add 5 extra minutes at a time. Learned that feature today and it definitely came in handy.\nI do wish the water temperature was lower though.

This was my first time taking my small dog to a self serve dog wash. Overall, I felt it was a good experience. There were no other dogs so it was a low stress environment. I had troubles with my credit card but eventually got it to work. My dog was not crazy about it but that was due to my skills and not the environment. I had plenty of time for washing and drying. The drying seemed to stress my dog so I stopped but the air was warm on the high setting.

This place is a massive rip off. They charge $15 for 15 minutes, which is absolutely ridiculous. At that rate you could pay a groomer/bather to do it for you for the same price OR LESS depending on your dog's coat length. On top of that, THEY DON'T HAVE ANY TOWELS. Having to blow dry a dog from soaking wet takes absolutely forever, and their dryers don't even blow hot air or have decent pressure! So even blow drying a dog with a short coat would take forever! And don't forget, they're basically charging you a dollar a minute.\n\nAnd I absolutely do not want to hear some bullshit about overhead. I've worked with dogs professionally for over a decade and I've worked in a grooming salon. Typically 50% of how much you pay at a salon goes to the actual groomer. This means that the other 50% of what you pay is the cost of supplies/water, etc AND the salon's profit margin. If a bather does the bath, then only the cost of their hourly(typically $16 to $18 an hour) goes toward the bather and the salon keeps even more.\n\nSo essentially you are paying these people the same amount you would a professional groomer/bather to bathe your dog, but YOU'RE DOING ALL THE ACTUAL LABOR.\n\nPet Supplies Plus has a flat rate, multiple shampoos and towels. They're going to give you a far better deal and quality of service. I ended up going to the Evanston location and they were wonderful.

Shari is the best groomer! She was the heart and soul of Kriser’s on Belmont before they closed down. Her new shop is small and easily accessible - and it works best that way: she does not crate/cage the dogs. Instead, she spaces her appointments so only 1-2 dogs are there at a time. When they are not being groomed, she has a bed/toy area with a leash hook where the dog can hang out. It’s right by her station so she can talk and interact with both at the same time.\nWe were so lucky to find her after she left Krisers as our highly-combative Scottish terrier wouldn’t let other groomers get near him. His freak-outs were legendary and we had a few places tap out and not even attempt the grooming appointment. Not Shari. She took the time to ease him through the bath (his most traumatic reaction for her) and by the time they got to the clipping table, he was calm. He even gave her kisses before we left. She also allowed me to come back and chat at pick up/drop off which I think helped my dog become accustomed to the space. Even the “doorbell” is such that it doesn’t “ding” which makes many dogs freak out - instead it’s a voice saying “someone’s at the door”. It’s those little things that all add up to a thoughtful business by someone who really knows what (and why) they are doing. All and all, just very positive experience and we are so grateful to have Shari back in our lives again!

Haven't gotten an official groom here, but coming in here to wash my dog using the self-serve is super easy and affordable....! You can use apple pay or a card, the machine is on for 15mins and it comes with soap too
