I am extremely disappointed with my experience at Sparkles Grooming, and I want to share our story to help other doodle parents make an informed decision. My dog King’s very first groom there was amazing — I’ve included before-and-after photos because he looked great and came home happy. However, by the second and third visits, I started noticing matting in his legs and tail area even though I brush him every other day and stay very consistent with his upkeep. I’m not sure if this was related to the products or handling, but it raised concerns for me because he had never experienced those issues before going there.\n\nBefore Sparkles, I groomed King myself for months and he never cried, screamed, or showed fear of brushing. Over time, I noticed his behavior change — he would become scared whenever I picked up his collar, thinking he was going back to the groomer. During our last appointment a few weeks ago, I was told I would receive a text 10 minutes before pickup, but hours passed with no communication. After nearly two hours, I went inside to check and was told they had shaved him completely bald due to matting near the neck — something I was never consulted about beforehand. As a very hands-on dog mom who brushes him regularly, I believe I should have been contacted before such a drastic decision was made.\n\nThe appointment lasted almost four hours, and while waiting outside I could hear King screaming and yelping for an extended period of time. It was heartbreaking and not something I had ever experienced with him before. Since that visit, he has shown clear fear and anxiety around grooming, which has been incredibly upsetting to see. Although the business promotes itself as doodle-friendly, my experience did not reflect a strong understanding of doodle coat care or communication with pet owners.\n\nAdditionally, canceling the membership has been extremely difficult. I was told cancellations cannot be handled remotely and that I must come in person, which is a 45-minute drive for me. Communication has been frustrating, as calls often go unanswered, and I was never informed that weekly grooming would be required as part of maintaining the membership. For anyone considering this groomer, I would honestly recommend choosing a local, independent groomer instead. From my experience, this franchise felt more focused on maintaining memberships than on the comfort and emotional well-being of the pets in their care.

I was just adopted by my sweet Poppy last Friday and it was obvious she needed a good grooming. The Sparkle staff was wonderfully friendly and courteous. And very patient while we worked through what services Poppy was going to get. A shout out to Allie who trimmed her EXACTLY as I requested. Sparkle staff really listens to their clients!! I will be return next month with Poppy for her second grooming! Here you see before and after!

We’ve been coming to Sparkle for several months now. I have two standard poodles and Laura A. does an amazing job with both my poodiful babies. I take them weekly for baths and grooms. Well worth the subscription! We get the color done elsewhere but cuts are done at Sparkle.

I recently brought my dog in for grooming, and I’m very pleased with the service. The groomers were gentle, patient, and clearly cared about my pet’s comfort. My dog came back looking clean, soft, and happy. They trimmed the nails neatly, brushed out all the tangles, and used a shampoo that smelled amazing. The overall experience was stress-free and professional — definitely a place I’d trust for regular grooming.

Brought Sophie my Chihuahua in for a nail trim and shampoo and ear cleaning. She came out looking so good and happy, would recommend this place to anyone. Front desk staff was nice and fast turn around time. Thank you for the great experience.
