We have been family members/patients of West Seattle Animal Hospital for 15 years and have gone through the thrill of a new puppy/kitten, routine management of our pet's health routines, and the end-stage life management for our beloved family members. We feel a part of the family and feel treated like a family member, particularly during those tough times helping an aging pet at the end-stage of their lives. Ouch. Most recently we had to make the decision to euthanize our almost 9-year old bulldog, Tiny Zoe, and Dr. Sternitsky and the entire team were caring and supportive throughout helping us manage her pain, making the difficult decision to euthanize vs. multiple surgeries, and were there for us in a peaceful and calming way while we put Tiny Zoe to rest. Never an easy day for anybody, but to allow Tiny Zoe to 'go on a good day' was a surreal and magical day. Thank you all for your love and kindness, with love, The Joy Family!

🐾 ❤️❤️ ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ ❤️❤️ 🐾\nWe’ve been to this veterinary clinic before for our “spicy” senior cat, who isn’t easy to handle due to his size and feisty nature. When he got sick our first visit was tough!! —another vet insisted on full sedation for an exam, which cost us nearly $1,000. 😩\nWhen his symptoms returned, I hesitated to go back due to the high cost and stress of sedation on our older kitty.\nEnter Addy, the amazing vet tech who truly saved the day! 💖🐾\nI shared my concerns with the receptionist, Addy called me fairly quickly, patiently answering all of my (many) questions, hearing my concerns and working with the doctor to explore options for the possibility of examining our cat without full sedation.\nShe was SO kind, calling multiple times over 24 hours to coordinate a plan.\n\nWe saw Dr. Keyser, who, along with Addy and another staff member, involved us in the process. With a little at-home medication, they skillfully managed to get our cat out of his carrier, hold him securely, and collect urine and blood samples quickly—no sedation needed! Hallelujah!\nAddy’s efficiency and care along with Dr. Keysers willingness to try to deal with our large feisty boy made all the difference.\nDr Keyser truly made things as minimally invasive to both the cat and my pocketbook as possible.\n\nLater, when we needed to administer subcutaneous fluids at home, Addy took the time to walk me through the process hands-on. She eased my fears about handling the needle and ensured I felt confident giving our kitty the fluids properly. I was scared to death that I would stab myself with the needle or hurt the cat… I was seeing disaster in my imagination!\nAddy gave me the best instructions and confidence to do this at home.\nShe even encouraged me to call with any questions, and I could tell she meant it.\n\nDr. Keyser followed up the next day to check on our cat and discuss lab results and next steps continuing to be as budget conscious as possible while keeping the patients health as the priority.\n\nBoth Dr. Keyser and Addy went above and beyond.\n\nThe entire staff is incredibly kind, but Dr. Keyser and Addy truly stand out for their dedication and care. They are truly a blessing.\n\nThis isn’t your typical corporate owned vet clinic pushing flea meds and multiple visits. They care deeply about the animals and the community they serve.\nWe’re so grateful for their time, effort, and heartfelt care!

I walked in this place with zero sleep and a sick dog. They got me in immediately and the receptionist was so kind. The veterinarian answered all of my questions, which made me feel good about my dog health being in the right hands. Winston my dog is feeling so much better. Thanks West Seattle animal hospital!

When our sweet fur baby was having what we thought was a continuation of previous issues, we made an appointment for a checkup to make sure we were doing everything we were supposed to. When her pain became more intense in the days leading up to our appointment, the lovely people at West Seattle Animal Hospital made space for her to come in a day earlier. After her visit, we got her more pain management, but by the next day, it was clearly not enough to improve her quality of life.\n\nThroughout the entire process, Dr. Quincy and the staff were very transparent about pricing, treatment options, and which avenues we could travel down for Luna's future. Our conversations were gentle, yet realistic, and helped us make the best decisions we could for our baby.\n\nWhen we unexpectedly had to say our goodbyes the following day, the staff and Dr. Quincy were very supportive and understanding about how difficult of a decision it was to make. They made sure we had time with Luna and were able to give her some treats and loves before we let her go.\n\nThe office handled her end of life arrangements and we were able to pick her up a few days later. She came in a beautiful wooden urn that had a space for a photo of her on the front and a ceramic paw print.\n\nA few days later we received a card signed by the entire staff with their condolences for our loss. This process is never meant to be easy, but WSAH made it as smooth as one could possibly expect. Thank you for your love and care!

My 7-year old Ragdoll had severe constipation which required multiple enemas over a period of days. I had to drop him off 3 days in one week and they took great care of him and made him feel loved. This prevented him from needing to be sedated as he trusted them. I am so grateful to the staff at West Seattle Animal Hospital.
