I can’t believe I haven’t written a review sooner because we absolutely love this Dogtopia location. As someone who worked in a pet daycare environment, I know how stressful transitions in ownership or management can be. With Phil leading the way, everything has felt smooth, organized, and genuinely welcoming from day one coming from a customers stand point.\n\nWhen we first arrived as new clients, Phil took the time to introduce himself and walk me through the entire process. He explained how our baby girl would be safely introduced to the pack, the spay timeline required for continued daycare since she was still a puppy, the activity-tracking bark collar, and every little detail in between. Nothing felt rushed or unclear. And I haven’t even mentioned the cameras yet. The cameras are honestly one of my favorite features, second only to the staff. Being able to check in and watch my dog during her play day brings me so much comfort. I can peek in when I worry, or just when I miss her.\n\nThat level of care extends beyond daycare. When Yuna had an allergy scare after eating salmon before drop-off, the staff called us immediately when they noticed something wasn’t right. That quick attention meant everything. Phil also recommended excellent and reasonably priced local veterinary care, which helped us find exactly what we needed.\n\nThe entire team makes this place special. Holley is an incredible source of knowledge and calm confidence. I trust any pet in her care, whether it’s lodging, training, or grooming. She is literally the only person who can trim our dog’s nails. I don’t know what magic she works to get our girl to stand still, but I hope she never stops. Holley is always excited to see Yuna and genuinely takes an interest in her growth and development.\n\nWhen Holley isn’t at the front, Vicki greets us with the biggest smile the moment she sees our car pull up. She clearly loves these dogs and takes their care seriously. She’s refreshingly honest, communicative, and always keeps me informed about daily activities and events. She makes an effort to remember the small details we’ve shared over time, which shows how much she cares about the people just as much as their pups.\n\nDogtopia offers an incredible range of services, and we’ve taken advantage of daycare, lodging, and grooming. I also have to mention their groomer, Tavia, who is truly a dog whisperer. She’s there on Thursdays, and after Yuna’s spay recovery she gave her a deep clean that left her refreshed, comfortable, and completely stress-free. It was quick, gentle, and so positive that we’ve kept coming back.\n\nRecently, Phil mentioned how busy Dogtopia has become, to the point they may open another room to keep up with demand. I think thats a great problem to have! That’s the kind of problem you get when a place earns trust and loyalty. I have no doubt he will handle every new change with the same professionalism and care we’ve experienced.\n\nWe truly love Dogtopia. Never change yall!

I am so pleased with Dogtopia Lakewood. The staff is the best! I wholeheartedly trust my chocolate lab to their care. The staff aren't just dog sitters, they are trained coaches. My lab is always so excited when she sees the storefront and loves all of her caregivers.

I've been taking my dog Opal to Dogtopia Lakewood - Alameda for the past few months, and the improvements with my dog's behavior and mental health have been nothing short of a miracle. Before starting daycare at Dogtopia, my dog was extremely anxious around other dogs, when going out to unfamiliar places, and just generally with anything new in her environment. She had such high anxiety that it could become aggression when her emotions were too tested. In fact, Dogtopia trainers were on the fence at first about whether to approve Opal to go there. I am very grateful that they did ultimately say yes, and since then they have worked with Opal on each visit to help bring her out of her shell, become comfortable around other dogs and people, and just become a more well-adjusted dog. At home, she's also less anxious and is overall just a lot happier. The staff at Dogtopia are the nicest people with the best interests of my dog always in mind. They have been extremely generous with their time, energy, and with granting us some free daycare days as well. Once when we got into a bind with a boarding issue at another dog care facility, the staff at Dogtopia came to my rescue and were able to take Opal for a few days boarding with no advance notice. I just feel like family when I'm at this Dogtopia location and am so appreciative of the ways they have improved my dog's life in the short time we've been going there so far.

We absolutely love Dogtopia! This is the only place I would trust with my dog. All the workers are so kind and caring, and my dog has a great time every time he goes! I also love using the cameras to see him having fun with the other dogs. I highly recommend!

I have been taking my small, 4 lb Russian Toy to this daycare since August, and I can’t speak highly enough about the staff here and my experience as a pet owner! Being so small, my pup sometimes needs specific things, like regular play breaks during longer days, and the staff have been so accommodating ensuring that my pup stays happy, safe and not overwhelmed by the daycare environment. We attend by the week and when we have had to miss days, like traveling or when he was neutered, the staff immediately paused our membership ensuring I wasn’t charged for days my dog didn’t attend. If you are a looking for a safe place to take your dog with a staff that truly cares about the dogs in their care, this is the place for you and your furbaby!
