Dr. Brigden and team did an amazing job with my Doberman, Jax. I’m very thankful for their expertise and thoroughness in explaining the procedure and providing an honest professional opinion.\n\nI informed Dr. Brigden that Jax typically becomes VERY dysphoric and anxious after anesthesia. He adjusted his anesthesia meds to ensure he was comfortable and calm before and after the procedure. I was really impressed to see he wasn’t dysphoric at all!

My dog Chewie (Chewbacca), a pug–poodle mix, had never had a professional dental cleaning until he was 5 years old. As a brachycephalic mix, I was extremely nervous about putting him under anesthesia because I know these breeds can carry additional risks, but as a small dog he is also prone to teeth crowding and dental issues. I finally decided to book a dental consult and cleaning with Pacific Coast Veterinary Dentistry and Oral Surgery, and I am so glad that I did.\n\nWe were cared for by Dr. Sean Panella, who took the time to explain the anesthesia protocols they follow and the special precautions they use for at‑risk breeds and dogs with pre‑existing conditions. His calm, thorough explanations made me feel much more confident about the entire procedure. It turned out that Chewie needed several extractions, and I am incredibly grateful for Dr. Panella’s expertise—despite the extensive dental work, Chewie recovered very well and is back to being a happy, energetic pup.\n\nI also want to give a special shout‑out to Amber at the front desk. She was extremely helpful and kind, and she went out of her way to accommodate my last‑minute request for a dental cleaning around the Christmas holidays. In addition, many thanks to Dr. Glenn Brigden, who personally followed up with us after surgery when I had questions about Chewie’s pain medication dosing. Even with the busy holiday schedule, we felt extremely well cared for from start to finish.\n\nIf you have a dog with special needs or a brachycephalic breed and are worried about anesthesia risks during a dental procedure, I highly recommend Pacific Coast Veterinary Dentistry and Oral Surgery for your pet’s dental care. I only wish I had gone to them sooner instead of spending so long worrying about anesthesia.

I have two Belgian malinois who HATE the vet and both have separately done fantastically at Pacific Coast Vet Dentistry with Dr. Panella over the last 3 years. I can’t describe it any other way than the vibe is just great at that office. From initial exams to surgery (both have had one root canal from unrelated injuries) both my high energy, high conflict dogs are so much more relaxed around the staff and do so well at this office. Additionally, Dr. Panella is super thorough and really takes his time to explain treatment plans, options, etc to make sure you feel comfortable as an owner. He even went the extra mile to do heartworm bloodwork for us while our one dog was under anesthesia since we were overdue at our primary vet so we could minimize vet visits for her. And then after surgery, I was told my dog (who is usually asked to go home immediately after surgery because she is so unhappy at the vet) picked a few members of the team to snuggle up with and was behaving great. Truly couldn’t recommend him or his team more.

After our 2 year old cat, Pickle, unexpectedly broke off one of his upper canine teeth, we took him to a local vet. The vet immediately referred us to Pacific Coast and we were able to book an appointment very quickly. From first speaking with the front office staff, to our consultation with Dr. Panella, it was clear that Pickle was going to be given expert care. Dr. Panella covered all of the potential price-ranges for Pickle’s treatment and explained in detail what was causing his dental problems, and what we can do as pet owners to prevent further tooth-decay. The surgery went very well and Pickle is recovering comfortably as I write this review. My Fiancé and I owe a big thank you to Dr. Panella and the rest of the staff at Pacific Coast for taking such good care of our beloved cat and will undoubtedly be returning for any future dental care Pickle might need.
