We originally tried private training sessions for our Portuguese Water Dog, Buddy, when he was a puppy, but unfortunately they didn’t produce the results we were hoping for. After a lot of consideration, we decided to enroll him in Club K9’s 4-week Board & Train program, and I can honestly say we have a completely different dog.\n\nThe transformation has been incredible. In just a few weeks, Buddy has learned so much, and the confidence we now have taking him out in public is night and day compared to before. We can take him virtually anywhere, and he listens, responds, and behaves in ways we never thought possible.\n\nA huge thank you to Merlin, Sierra, Jordan, and Abraham. Their knowledge, patience, and dedication are truly impressive. The entire staff is friendly, professional, and genuinely cares about the dogs they work with.\n\nWhat really sets Club K9 apart is the follow-up training after the Board & Train program. They don’t just hand your dog back and send you on your way. They take the time to thoroughly teach you what your dog has learned and make sure you can successfully continue that training at home.\n\nIt wasn’t just Buddy, either. Watching the other dogs in his class, every single one showed remarkable progress from the day they were dropped off.\n\nIf you’re serious about training your dog and want real, lasting results, I highly recommend Club K9. The investment was worth every penny, and I wouldn’t hesitate to do it again..

We originally considered using Club K9 just for boarding while we were away for our wedding and honeymoon, but ultimately decided to enroll Frosty in their two-week training program as well, and we are so glad we did.\n\nOne of our biggest goals was improving his manners and helping with his reactivity around other dogs. Before training, he often seemed scared or defensive when other dogs were nearby, even if we were simply walking past them. Since coming home, the difference has been huge. He is much calmer and more manageable around other dogs. He still gets excited sometimes, but his mindset seems completely different—now it feels much more like he wants to go meet or play with them rather than reacting out of fear or defensiveness.\n\nHis overall manners have improved tremendously, too. His leash walking is top tier. He was already relatively good on a leash, but they really fine-tuned his ability to walk beside us and stay with us. He is much more responsive to commands, and one of the biggest improvements has been learning to hold a command until he is given the next one, without constantly needing to be told to “wait” or “stay.”\n\nWe unfortunately weren’t able to do our first in-person training session when we picked Frosty up because we arrived later than planned, but our follow-up hands-on session was incredibly helpful. The trainer had a full practice area set up with cones and beds so we could work through commands with Frosty ourselves while receiving live feedback and corrections. It gave us a much better understanding of how to continue reinforcing everything he learned at home.\n\nWe especially appreciated how willing they were to tailor the session to our real life. We live full-time in a fifth wheel, and one of our biggest safety concerns was Frosty rushing through the door and down the stairs ahead of us or right behind our legs. When we brought this up, the trainer immediately created a practice setup with cones and walked us through different techniques for teaching Frosty to stop and wait at the doorway until we are safely down the steps and release him. Having someone work through a situation that specific to our lifestyle with us on the spot was extremely valuable.\n\nOverall, we are extremely happy with Frosty’s progress and our experience with Club K9. The training gave him a great foundation, but just as importantly, they gave us the tools and knowledge to keep building on it ourselves. We can see a real difference in his confidence, manners, and ability to listen, and we would absolutely recommend Club K9 to anyone considering their boarding and training programs.

Club K9 was our last resort for our highly reactive Belgian Malinois with a bite history. He needed extreme behavioral changes because of his traumatic history before we rescued him. We had put him thru private training prior which gave us basic obedience for a high drive working dog, but it did not address his reactivity and unfortunately had 2 more bite events. We knew that if one more try at training didn't work, we would have to euthanize him. We enrolled him in the 10-week boarding program for behavioral modification and we can truly say that the trainers at Club K9 saved our dogs life.\n\nAfter 6-weeks of boarding and 4-weeks of home + facility training, Brody has his same playful spirit but with far more impulse control and obedience. We can finally trust him again with other people and dogs. We have even been able to add a puppy to our family without worry of an incident because of his excellent training and social awareness.\n\nClub K9 gave Brody the confidence he lacked and taught us the skills we needed to give this reactive and abused dog a normal, balanced, and happy life. We couldn't thank the wonderful trainers enough! Thank you Emily, Erica, Jordan, Manny, Merlin, and the rest of the team ❤️

This review is long overdue. I got stuck with a pitbull last year. Sweet, but 60lbs of out of control puppy energy. She was either kenneled or locked in my room. I had to leash her to walk her to the backdoor for potty breaks otherwise she'd tear through the house jumping on everyone and everything. Trying to exercise her with residential walks was a nightmare because of her being reactive to other people and dogs. Walking in the desert was more tolerable with less people but again, being dragged every which way over loose dirt and rocks was exhausting. She played extremely rough with my other dog so I had to constantly rescue him and keep them seperated 95% of the time. I seriously hated my life with her. I enrolled her in the advanced obedience class in September and that's the best thing I could have done. She has freedom in the house now. Gets along great with my other dog, and we hike minimum 2 miles a day off leash. Her recall is on point, no more stressing. We still use the e collar as taught every day, and we're at the point I only have to use the vibrate/call button. I will forever be grateful to the trainers at club k9.

Where do I even start? From beginning to end, the staff at Club K9 were outstanding! Our family originally inquired about a 2 week stay. After speaking with Merlin (Lead Trainer) she convinced us that the 1-month program was the best program to go for our dogs Kona and Maui (Bernedoodles). All the training staff and employees were always cheerful, respectful and genuinely love dogs.\n\nNeedless to say, we were worried about our fur babies. Club K9 went above and beyond our expectations and made us feel comfortable leaving our dogs with them for a month. Big shout out to Brooke, Merlin, Cierra, Jordan and the whole staff at Club K9 - Lake Mead! Thank you for all of your hard work and dedication to Kona and Maui! The program was not the cheapest by no means but was well worth the investment!
