Goldens and Hounds Grooming Salon

I needed a groomer who is gentle and patient with dogs to help our 6 month old Shih Tzu puppy ease into the grooming routine. A local pet store ("I'll Be Doggone" in Mokena) recommended this location, and the reviews looked great. I booked an appointment and spoke with the groomer over the phone that same day. When I finally dropped off Kyoma, the groomers talked to me about what their game plan was, and let me know that they would call me throughout the process. The communication was great, and very much appreciated since I was nervous about how the little guy would do.\n\nI had no idea, but dogs with this coat type have an adult coat of fur that grows in around this age and gets tangled in with the existing puppy coat. I felt so bad finding out how matted Kyoma's fur actually was, but the groomers explained everything to me, and I really appreciate that. They did have to shave off the entire coat length, which was fine with me, since it saved everyone some time and hassle. When I picked him up, he looked better than I expected he would!! I can't believe they were able to style it in a way that still looks nice on him, I was blown away. He looks amazing now, and I'm sure he feels much better too. And the price was better than I expected as well, given how much work it sounded like they needed to put in.\n\nBefore I left, they explained everything they did and told me how he behaved throughout all of it. They even showed me the kind of comb I should use on his coat from now on to make sure the tangles don't come back.\n\nOverall, I'm so so so glad I found Goldens and Hounds Grooming!!! They did an awesome job with our stubborn pup, and they gladly educated me on things before, during, and after his appointment. We'll definitely be returning in the future! Thank you guys so so much!!

First time at Goldens and Hounds. Very pleased with our experience. Our little girl looks wonderful and smells so good. She loves showing off her shamrock bandana. We highly recommend Goldens and Hounds to anyone looking for a qualified groomer.

Finding a new groomer is always tough. We made a great decision to try Caitlin at Goldens and Hounds! She did a great first groom with Gracie and we already booked our 2nd appointment.
