Shaggy Dog Market

I can’t say enough great things about Shaggy Dog and I’ve only been a customer for one month!\nWe have a 10-month-old Golden Retriever who was dealing with severe stomach issues back in January. After multiple vet visits, prescriptions, and tests, we still didn’t have real answers or lasting relief. We were exhausted and worried.\nOn a whim, we stopped into Shaggy Dog in Buda and spoke with the owner about everything we’d been going through. He took the time to really listen and gave thoughtful, personalized recommendations for a new food regimen. We decided to give it a try and I am so glad we did!\nIt’s like we have a brand-new dog! He’s more energetic, happier, has perfect bowel movements, and hasn’t had a single tummy issue since switching his diet. The difference has been incredible.\nThis is the kind of care and knowledge you only get from a specialty store where the owner truly stands behind his products. We would much rather invest in our pup’s health now than continue racking up vet bills for emergency visits.\nI highly recommend Shaggy Dog to anyone in the area. The staff is knowledgeable, helpful, and genuinely cares about the well-being of your pets. Thank you for giving us our happy, healthy boy back!

I used the self wash dog stations every 2-3 weeks until I moved. I miss them very much - they were clean, reasonably priced, big enough for both of my 90LB dogs, the door latched shut, and the soaps available were great. AND you could make an appointment so you wouldn't have to wait for them to become available! The product offerings were also excellent, and the staff were friendly and knowledgeable. Really struggling to find something as great in Nashville!\n\nCraig if you ever open a shop in Nashville, let me know and I'll be your first customer!

Shaggy Dog Market has long been known as a trusted name in pet nutrition and care, but their recent actions have further cemented their reputation as a business driven by compassion, integrity, and genuine community spirit.\n\nIn the wake of the recent flooding in Kerrville, Shaggy Dog Market demonstrated exceptional leadership and generosity by donating hundreds of dollars worth of premium pet food to aid displaced animals and overwhelmed shelters. Without hesitation, they stepped in to support Kerrville Pets Alive and the Austin Pets Alive (APA!) network, helping to ensure that pets affected by the disaster received the nutrition and care they needed during an incredibly difficult time.\n\nTheir swift and heartfelt response underscores a core value that sets Shaggy Dog Market apart — an unwavering commitment not only to pets, but to the people and communities who care for them. In a time when many businesses focus solely on profit, Shaggy Dog Market continues to prove that ethical, community-centered action can — and should — be at the heart of local enterprise.\n\nBeyond their charitable efforts, Shaggy Dog Market consistently offers high-quality products, expert guidance, and outstanding customer service. Their dedication to animal wellness is reflected not just in their inventory, but in every decision they make — from the partnerships they foster to the way they give back when it matters most.\n\nWe applaud Shaggy Dog Market for their generosity, compassion, and leadership. Kerrville and the surrounding areas are lucky to have them — not just as a pet supply store, but as a cornerstone of the community in Buda and Kyle.

Friendly and helpful staff. I recently moved into the area and I'm very glad that this is a local small business that I can support! They have self service dog baths that are fully stocked with items for your use. It's a clean store and a clean area to bathe my dog. There is a wonderful selection of foods. And helpful items throughout the store.

We absolutely LOVE Shaggy Dog! With three fur babies we come here pretty regularly. The staff is always kind, and they remember our pups. Our oldest, Poppy, just turned 9 today. We celebrated by going in and I think she very much enjoyed it!
