I have been coming here for years! “Cooper” seems at ease and I always get a report that he is a sweetheart. That’s because he is comfortable with the staff. Many years ago… zero complaints!

BEWARE OF THIS PLACE EMPLOYEES HURT ANIMALS\nPetSmart\n5207 Brodie Ln\nSunset Valley Texas 78745\n\nI am writing to formally express my deep dissatisfaction regarding a grooming appointment my Shih Tzu, Nova, had on October 15, 2025. Prior to the appointment, I clearly communicated to your grooming staff that Nova had recently undergone major surgery on her nails and specifically instructed them not to cut her nails.\n\nUpon arriving to pick up Nova, I was alarmed to see the groomer, Myra, using a nail dremel on her paws. It is concerning to think that if I had not been present, the staff might have concealed this action. Since the appointment, Nova has been excessively licking her nails and appears to be in significant pain.\n\nAfter noticing this, I contacted PetSmart to report my concerns. Unfortunately, Myra abruptly hung up on me. I then spoke with another staff member, Joey, who displayed a rude and unprofessional demeanor, raising his voice and showing no accountability for the incident. While he acknowledged that mistakes can happen, he offered no genuine apology or reassurance, and instead focused on expressing his annoyance at my accusations. I requested to speak with the manager, Chris Garner, but was left waiting and subsequently hung up on. After Joey snapped and told me he won’t be accused of hurting a dog, it brought back a memory of him saying this same exact thing years ago, I totally forgot about this location where a similar incident happened with Joey, my dogs eyes were bloodshot red, I promised to never take her here again, but forgot which location it was until Joey repeated those same words.\n\nThe lack of compassion and responsibility for the well-being of animals in your care is appalling. All I sought was an acknowledgment of the situation and accountability from the staff involved. This experience has left me not only upset but also questioning the standard of care provided by your establishment. I will not be returning to PetSmart for any future grooming services.\n\nI hope you take this matter seriously and address the issues within your grooming department to prevent similar incidents from occurring in the future.\nThe manager offered to have my nova come to their vet, I know they are linked, so they would tell me my nova was fine and that I was overreacting, after 48 hours nova was trying to mend her pain by licking her paws. I’m so disappointed that I’m disappointed. The people working were sweet, so I hate to leave a negative review, but I’m that unhappy with my dog’s most recent grooming. This was my first time at this location and not only was she still literally wet when she was given back to me & was shedding immediately(I specifically get the deshedding service) but her claws also hadn’t been clipped, her teeth hadn’t been brushed, there was no perfume smell….and I realize that sounds absurd but I paid extra for the “fall package” that specifically included all of those things. I am leaving this review a few days later because I just keep noticing how bad it was. I won’t be returning to Petsmart for grooming. The location that I went to before this was also disappointing and that’s why I tried to switch.

If I could give negative stars, I would. The grooming was horrible, and my dog came home so shaken that for two weeks she panicked every time we walked into any store, thinking she was about to be groomed again. She has never been scared of grooming in her life, so whatever happened back there is a mystery, and not a good one.\n\nCustomer service was another nightmare. I spent 80 minutes going back and forth, being told “we’ll make it right,” but nothing was ever done. This was the worst grooming experience I’ve ever had. Trust me, it really is that bad.

Love this place! Best place for my kitties ever! Their selections of just about anything for our pets is simply amazing! Their rewards program is great.
