This was my third time(I believe) taking my standard poodle there. The first two times the groom was phenomenal and the groomer was so sweet. One time I even had to cancel the day before due to my dog having vomiting and diarrhea and they were very understanding. This last time I got a different groomer. I asked for a MCC for my poodle. She stated she had just done one the day before, which was comforting, as it is a hard labor intensive cut. My dog also had to be cut into the pattern which I understand takes extra time and comes with an extra charge. I live 40ish mins away and like to stay close and run errands so I always ask how long they think it will take. She stated confidently that it shouldn't be more than 3 or 4 hours. Which was on par with previous times. At the 4 hour mark I called and was told there was no reason it should be more than one more hour. I drove to the shop and walked inside after one hour assuming my dog was done. She was on the table still with quite a bit left to do. The groomer had attitude and stated "she isnt even done yet". I waited for a bit inside which I understand can stress my dog. But the groomer was telling my dog commands using words she hasnt been taught then getting frustrated when my dog didnt understand. She was telling her to stay and my dog uses wait for that. Poodles are sensitive dogs, I didnt appreciate the tone she used or the handling I saw when inside. The groomer was also giving me unpleasant looks and just had very visible attitude. When asked to go wait in my car I happily obliged but asked once again asked how much longer, as at this point I had been gone from home for multiple hours and longer than I anticipated. I was told maybe 30 more mins. I waited in my car. She comes out with my dog after a total of about 6 hours. Now I am aware a MCC is a difficult cut, but my dog is uneven, choppy, and her top knot has a pretty good oopsie in it(I was not inside when they trimmed it, so it was definitely not a "Well you cause it because she could see you" issue. She also had not been blown off well or maybe even at all after they finished trimming and had quite a bit of loose hair on her. Most of the groom issues I didnt notice until I was home, after paying about 250 with tip for this cut. I did not feel comfortable taking her back nor did I want to drive 40 minutes one way to most likely get attitude while they tried to fix the issues. I would have appreciated a more appropriate estimate of time, I would have just driven back home and waited there. And also a better end result for the 250 I paid. The groomer did apologize for the extra time it took. In the end it's only hair and it will grow back, but I think it would be appreciated by more than just me to make sure you give more accurate times and if you would like to use commands with the dog ask for verification or words the dog understands. Hallie is fine and healthy and we appreciate the previous two grooms. Below is a picture of the top knot oopsie right after I got her home.

I don’t have an issue with the haircuts. My review is based on the customer service and attitudes of the staff.\nSince I’ve been going to this groomer no one speaks when you enter. There is no greeting, nothing. I understand they are busy, but a simple, “Hello someone will be with you shortly.” Is simple. Every time I walked into this establishment, I would say hello after going unnoticed. The owner or manager (the one that does the coloring) has looked up at me on several occasions and continued working. There was no hold on, someone will be with you, no smile, nothing.\nIt just doesn’t make you feel welcomed there.\nI give stellar customer service because I appreciate every customer that walks in my establishment. When someone finally comes to the counter, you’re rushed.\nThey charge if you’re 15 minutes late, but they don’t even work on your pet until hours after your appt.\nI will be finding another groomer that actually welcomes their customers and show their love for your pets.

Amazing, I can't say enough good things about my experiences over the years with Madeline and her crew. When you first walk in and you look to your right... you will see all the grooming trophies. If you want the best experience for your dog, you go to the best groomers!\n\nDefinitely ask about the maintenance plans. I drop my dogs off every other Saturday, do some shopping, run some errands, and pick up dogs that look like (and smell like) they are ready for the runway. Mad about dogs is the only salon I have found, where my pups are actually excited to go the groomers.\n\nThey did raise their prices some, but I can't find any store- dog related or not- that did not also raise prices for any goods. But there are no hidden markups or upcharges that I have found at other salons.\n\nSo... between customer service, the quality of the grooms, and the amount of knowledge Madeline has on all things dogs, I will continue to support her business for years to come.

My dog doesn't like having his nails done so I texted Mad About Dogs to see if they could help. Their response was quick, and they let me know what days to come in so the owner Could work on him. I mixed up the days, but Victoria was able to do his nails while Caitlin helped hold him. They were both super sweet to my guy. It was a positive experience overall. Thank you!

Brought my newly rescued Aussie here because it's right by my house, and I read the reviews about their experience with new rescues. I was nervous because he is quite skittish and is at risk for fleeing. They did an amazing job with him! I was so happy to see his new cut. She made sure to ask me what I wanted to have done for him. He seemed very comfortable with them. Definitely coming back here for his next cut. She even took adorable photos of him!!
