We live in the East Bay and happily drive to Mill Valley for daycare and training at Alpha Dog because it’s truly worth it. Our second dog is a rescue from Korea who needed significant training and socialization, and we wanted a place we could fully trust.\n\nTraining is optional of course but requires a daycare reservation whereas daycare can be standalone. Everyone starts with a thorough 4-hour free assessment, which shows how seriously they take safety and fit. Our rescue started with half days so she wouldn’t be overwhelmed, and the team thoughtfully adjusted her training plan. We eventually enrolled our other dog in training as well to work on leash reactivity.\n\nAfter 3+ months, the progress—especially with our rescue—has been impressive. Training sessions include report cards and videos, which help us stay consistent at home. The trainers are knowledgeable, communicative, and clearly prioritize each dog’s needs. Special shoutout to Danielle and Julia - the trainers who have been working directly with both our dogs - for truly caring about our dogs and catering to their needs.\n\nAD also offers grooming on site, which is incredibly convenient. Daycare is well run with multiple play yards and attentive staff. Both of our dogs pull us into the lobby in the mornings and come home tired and happy. The general manager, Ashley, has been super helpful since day one and always greets us with a smile.\n\nTraffic can be hectic during busy hours, but that’s minor compared to the quality of care your dogs receive. Dog daycare and training are very expensive, but if you’re paying for it, this is the kind of place you want. We will continue to bring our dogs to Alpha Dog in the near future. Highly recommend scheduling an assessment and seeing for yourself.

Always a great experience. The staff is amazing and the facility is clean. The safety of your dog is their main priority. My black lab starts to wag his tail the moment we turn the corner and pull in the parking lot of Alpha Dogs...All his best buddies are there waiting for him to play.

My elderly mother needs a pet boarder for the holiday. Alpha dog requested my mother to visit with her 15 year old dog once and then requested three more Visits. They kept her dog five hours each visit promising she was reserved for a holiday week stay. (12/23-27). On her fourth visit they canceled her holiday week reservation indicating her dog is barking in her cage. My mother spent a total of $200, when this pet observation could have been 4 hours NOT 20. On some level it appears like a scam and taking advantage of the elderly. .Be warned.

We’ve been bringing our 2.5-year-old dog to Alpha Dog for day stays for over a year now, and we couldn’t be happier with the experience. Our dog is always excited to arrive, and it’s clear how much she loves spending time there.\n\nByron, Flo, and the whole team are incredibly welcoming, accommodating and they genuinely care for her. It’s great to have a place we trust completely, where we know our dog is safe, happy, and well looked after. Highly recommend Alpha Dog to anyone looking for outstanding daycare for their pup in the Marin area.

I had an amazing experience at Alpha Dog, and I want to express my gratitude to the exceptional dog trainers, especially Tiana and Sierra. My dog, Arlo, participated in both obedience training and the Service Dog program, and the results have been truly remarkable.\n\nTiana's thoughtful and effective approach made a significant difference in Arlo's training. She took the time to understand his unique personality and needs, which were key factors in Arlo's successful training journey.\n\nThe Service Dog program was particularly impressive. Tiana and Sierra provided comprehensive training that focused not only on obedience but also on the specific skills required for service work. Arlo is now well-prepared to assist my son in various situations, thanks to their expertise.\n\nOverall, I highly recommend Alpha Dog and Tiana for anyone looking to train their dog. The care and dedication she shows to both the dogs and their owners are truly commendable. Thank you, Tiana, for working with us!
