We have been taking our pups for grooming here for a bit. They always come out looking great and clean. However we began noticing that after some visits they are very uncomfortable with skin irritation and razor burns. The pups extreme discomfort has led to expensive vet visits post grooming on a few occasions now. Most recently they were groomed earlier this week and were showing signs of discomfort upon returning home from picking them up. Resulted in an urgent vet visit again for treatment for a skin irritation that became inflamed and swollen. We have not had this issue when we take them to other groomers in Kingston or Bainbridge. We had switched to Country Pet Shoppe for location convenience but we don’t want to risk our pups having potential issues after each grooming experience. It’s hard to see them suffer. We contacted the business about our concerns and still haven’t heard back.\n\nEdit: We did hear back from the shop once the review went up, which we appreciated. To clarify, we did not indicate “ongoing skin sensitivities at each visit” we indicated to the groomer to not cut or shave too close to the skin (to help minimize nicks and cuts from the tools used). Our pups did not have a systemic response or body wide itching post grooming, it has been localized areas of irritation/injury which then worsens as our pups focus on that area with licks or scoots, which only seems to happen at this grooming shop. Our pups have had no issues at other grooming salons or with other groomers. Overall, the owner told us to go somewhere else. We agreed that’s the best option since the pups don’t seem to have any issues after being groomed at other local grooming places.

I’ve had my dog, Barkley, groomed by Missy for a couple years now. He’s a cocker mix. Missy does such a good job every time. The staff there is so helpful when I buy dog food and treats. So glad we have this sweet pet shop locally. Thanks, Missy, for taking such good care of Barkley!

This has to be the best shop in the area. But this is no PetSmart. Meaning this place doesn't have clueless people walking around not knowing what is best for the "Furry Children." Immediately I got a warm, welcoming feeling walking through the doors. The selection is not huge, but it's Quality I am looking for, not Quantity, and boy did I find it. Knowledgable, courteous, and helpful. I will be doing my shopping locally from now on. THIS PLACE IS AWESOME!!!

Great store with decent selection of products. They did a good job grooming my German Shepherd who usually won't let me brush her at all. Free parking, but the store can be kind of difficult to get in and out of depending on ferry traffic.
