I’ve been a dedicated Patagonia customer for many years and have spent thousands of dollars on their clothing and gear. The entire reason I stayed loyal to Patagonia was their reputation for standing behind their products and their customer service.\n\nUnfortunately, my most recent visit to the Patagonia store in Denver changed that completely.\n\nI brought in a damaged Patagonia item, fully expecting the kind of fair, respectful resolution I’d always experienced in the past. Instead, I was offered roughly 25% of what the item is worth, which felt dismissive and out of line with the values Patagonia has long promoted.\n\nAs a disabled combat veteran, customer service and integrity matter a great deal to me. I didn’t feel valued as a long-time customer, nor did I feel that Patagonia’s well-known warranty philosophy was being honored in practice. The interaction left me with the clear impression that the company’s stance on customer care has shifted — and not for the better.\n\nIt’s disappointing to walk away from a brand I once trusted and supported, but after this experience, I won’t be doing business with Patagonia again. I’ll be looking for another company that truly stands behind their products and treats long-term customers with respect.
