Long time satisfied client, first time reviewer. I've been going here since 2017 for two of my own cats and now two of my partner's cats. Dr. Cathy Ortloff and her team are the absolute best in the business. They have gone above and beyond for us more times than I can easily recall. Most of the vet techs have been there for a long time and everyone is knowledgeable and experienced. They genuinely care about cats and will give you all of the options for shared decision making.\n\nOur cats are all seniors and I can attest that Dr. Cathy and her team really care about making sure cats have long and healthy lives of the best possible quality. My partner is a very nervous cat dad, and they even managed to ease his anxiety (which exceeded that of his cats!) when his two cats recently needed dental surgeries at age 16.\n\nWhen my 19 year old cat passed away in May of 2020 during lockdown (after years of slowly progressing kidney disease and then frequent strokes in his last year of life), Dr. Cathy made sure my partner and I could be present when the time came that it became obvious that he needed to be euthanized. She never forced the issue and I was the one who initiated the request. They were also very good at helping me through the process of how to make the decision of when it would be time to take the final step of saying goodbye to my forever friend. This was the very early scary months of the Covid pandemic. While the clinic was otherwise "contactless" for regular clients, Dr. Cathy made an exception for euthanasia. My partner and I masked up and went in a tiny exam room together to be with him for a very peaceful death. One of my biggest fears knowing my beloved elderly cat was so close to the end when the pandemic hit was that I would not be able to be with him when he passed. I will never forget Dr. Cathy's compassion and professionalism during that time, and will remain a loyal client for as long as I live in the Denver area and have cats.\n\nNote on the people complaining about staff turnover--this is only true of a few new younger hires. The core tech team has been there for decades and have a deep wealth of experience, knowledge, and compassion for all cats. Also, they are experts at calming and handling cats. One of my cats is a more difficult patient, and they handle her calmly and with gentleness, respecting her limits and working quickly to draw blood and do whatever else needs to be done to keep her healthy.\n\nFinally, their prices are very reasonable for the service and expertise they provide, and they are great with boarding as well! My cat who passed actually looked forward to going there to hang out with his vet friends. When he was old and sick, it was great peace of mind to know he was happy and getting the best care and all the treatment he needed if I was out of town. Pictured below, Roland the Cat 2001-2020 (RIP) and Townsie, now 18 (88 in human years) and doing well thanks to the care she gets at Purrfect Health!

Dr. Ortloff and her team at Purrfect Health are the best. They are professional, kind, and extremely knowledgeable. Whether we are in office with our kitties or communicating on the phone or via email, we know that well being of our kitties is as important to them as it is to us.\n\nIt's absolutely worth bringing our kitties from Lakewood over to their location in Lone Tree because of the quality care Dr. Ortloff and her team provide. Anyone in the Denver metro area who wants the best for their kitties should definitely check out Purrfect Health.

I DO NOT recommend this practice. My cat Mili Moo was diagnosed with diabetes in September. The vet recommended a new oral medication but because of the cost I asked if it was safe to try the RX diet first to see if that made a difference. It did slightly but after an episode of pancreatitis it should have been explained to me that medication was absolutely necessary. I brought her in for follow up, and regularly called with updates.\n\nBecause Mili was not eating well I brought her in yesterday 10/31 to check glucose, BP and to see if she was constipated. She wasn’t but she was in a diabetic crisis. The substitute Vet that day was absolutely awful over the phone and made the assumption that I was not going to treat her diabetes. That was never the case, I only tried the diet first because of the cost that I was quoted. This vet even said I might as well euthanize her. I started to cry and became very upset. After this awful conversation, I decided to go pick Mili up and rush her to the hospital. She was in terrible condition. The substitute vet was going to give her insulin and send her home with me, if I had done that Mili would have died! Not only was this vets bedside manner and communication style awful, she never treated Mili the entire time she was in her care. At the very least she should have put her on IV fluids to transfer her to the ER. Mili was extremely dehydrated and very sick. It’s incredible I paid $310 for Mili to not be treated. I honestly think under the circumstances that visit should be refunded for the lack of care. The ER requested multiple times Milis records and the labs were not sent. The office had 2 hours to send records. When the ER reached back out, the office was closed. They had to repeat all the labs and this delayed her treatment as well.\n\nWhen Mili was initially diagnosed with diabetes, I was told by the doctor that the new oral medication was $100/mo but you have to pay for 3 months up front. That cost caused me to pause. I was told that it was the same price as insulin. This was not true. A vial of insulin is regularly $200/ vial and a vial lasts 4 months, the ER vet confirmed. Insulin has gone down from that regular price. Long acting insulin today was $77/ vial and with a coupon it’s $35/ vial. That is a big difference. I feel that the vet at Purrfect Health was dishonest. It resulted in delayed treatment and now a hospitalization. She needed treatment sooner. I did not realize that insulin was affordable and I was not aware of the dangers of not treating quickly. Now my cat has an ER bill of 4k. Let’s pray she makes it. Whatever you do, do not trust Purrfect Health Cat Hospital.
