JK's Ruff House

I absolutely love JK’s Ruff House! I bring both my Pekingese and my senior Shih Tzu here. After having a bad experience with another groomer in Denver who hurt my older Shih Tzu, I decided to try this location instead- and I’m so glad I did.\n\nI’ve never had a single issue here. Both of my dogs have had haircuts here at least 5–6 times, and every single time they come back happy, comfortable, and looking great. The staff is clearly gentle, patient, and experienced, especially with older dogs. I truly trust them and wouldn’t take my dogs anywhere else.

I do not recommend this groomer establishment. Though this review won’t matter based on being told that “their clientele is all regulars.” First - before bringing my pup here, I stopped in with photos and videos and was quoted $120-$130. I thought Holly was the groomer for the job. Evidently, I was wrong. After my dog was their for 2 hours I was told that she had only been washed and bathed (crated for 30+ minutes, their words) and that she had too many mattes and because of this they wanted to shave her instead of taking the time to get the mattes out. My dog is 5 years old and her mattes were no worse than they ever are, as she gets groomed every month. When I came to pick her up, I tried to schedule another appointment a month out, as I had already booked another appointment with Mobile Pet Shine (her previous groomer/ I was trying to save $150) to get her mattes out. I was then told that this was not the groomer for her. The photos before are what she looks like after Mobile Pet Shine. I highly recommend using them.\n\nUpdate: I got home and it only took me 15 minutes to get the mats out using a non-prong serrated rake and a brush and no she was not In any pain.

Was very excited to support a local business as a new resident in the neighborhood but my dog’s face after his cut looks so bad. I shared with the groomer Sam that the most attention is needed on his face. The rest of his grooming on his body was fine but the face looks so bad. Going to have to redo the face trim myself- which I should not have to do after a $110 full service groom. Aside from that the staff were very friendly.

Surprise more expensive pricing! Beware! Called to book a groom and was told that it would be $95. Showed up after the groom and they told me it was actually $113 and would not budge when I asked why it was raised from what I was quoted on the phone.\n\nFor context: my dog weighs 12 lbs and my groomer in New York is less expensive than this spot.\n\nThere are plenty of more honest businesses that groom dogs in the area. Disappointed because this one used to be a great affordable option in our neighborhood. Lesson learned.

Everyone who works at JKs Ruff house is so friendly and it’s evident how much they care for dogs. My dog always leaves excited and looking great. I really appreciate that they don’t put the dogs in a crate before or after grooming because I feel like it gives me dog a better experience. He doesn’t leave stressed or panting. Mikayla groomed my dog this time and did an incredible job— we’ve had other groomers who also do an incredible job!\nTheir prices are also great! So glad to found them 🥰
