Santé D'Or

What an amazing place and amazing group of people. My husband and I adopted two kitten brothers that were rescued by Sante Dor when they were tiny babies. They were bottle fed and raised by their foster parent Jody with love, care, and experience. And being first time cat parents, our coordinator Morgan really held our hands through out the whole process, she is always SO patient, helpful, and knowledgeable with all-cat-related things!! We also got help from Heather and Amy, when we thought one of our boys got seriously sick (when it turned out that he just ate too fast and got nauseous…..silly boy) and brought him in, the ladies were real pros handling him and checking him out. They calmly and pleasantly comforted us and eased our nerves. I really can’t express how much we appreciate them all. On the way back, my husband was urging me to write a nice review, so here I am, and we almost never leave a review for anything! Anyways, WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND SANTE DOR TO ANYONE WHO’S LOOKING TO ADOPT.

This is such a special place and I appreciate how there is a safe haven for kitties! My friend and I had a great afternoon playing with the cats. You can easily tell that the staff/volunteers take such good care of the cats and are closely attuned to each one’s unique personalities. You can drop in when they’re open and after putting on some hand sanitizer, you’re given a brief orientation of the protocols. If you want to play with the kittens, note that you can only pick one. There are three sections where there are kittens and a bunch of adult cats frolicking around. You can adopt if you’re interested or simply come for some kitty therapy. It’s free to enter and there’s metered parking available.

Los Angeles, and our feline community, are so blessed to have this incredible foundation here. The team that runs this place is the absolute best, top to bottom. Incredible humans that really care about their cats. They also do an amazing job with the cats they receive - helping them become well adjusted and perfectly suited for adoption. They won’t lie to you to get you to take a cat home. Everyone is open, honest, and incredibly kind. If you are thinking of adopting and are nervous/apprehensive they will be happy to help ease your thoughts and guide you through the process. If you want to adopt or support a shelter in Los Angeles you can’t go wrong with Sante D’or. Seriously can’t say enough nice things about this place and the people and kitties there.

EDIT: and look at that! They blocked me on fb. Y'all are super unprofessional\n\nGreat job for deleting reviews about the people telling y'all to return Sheila back to his rightful owner. She was sick, was promised her cat would be returned to her by the foster and yet she was ghosted by y'all. Only to find out y'all had adopted Sheila out against her wishes, When y'all had told his owner that he wouldn't be adopted. Y'all are horrible and don't deserve 5 stars.

Wonderful, caring set up. We fostered 2 kittens from the LA fires and the staff kept in touch and organized their vaccinations etc. and were so helpful and concerned. Such a great team of staff!
